Conclusions:  Equates last and first authorship - an apples and oranges problem that should be handled with *different* metrics, not one metric that confuses apples and oranges. Crediting function is qualitatively "reasonable" at least for some fields but quantitatively it is quite arbitrary. This is a key problem from our perspective. MB: has identified a review paper to work from. Built some calculating functionality. Problem with some papers having large numbers of authors (like 100). TT: Considering questions involving comparing fields... also need to critically compare the method with related methods at some point... and other problems.  If an article is identified that we can read together, we will do that as well.

AAS is ok, next step is to develop an outline. AIs can be helpful as a first step. Looking for a job, schedule and attendance at these meetings is not clear.  IEEE is ok with using AI to write things but you have to explain in the Acknowledgement section. Step 1: get an outline to guide you in making the article. Ask an AI! Claude.ai is able to take long docs like a thesis. Ask it to suggest a detailed outline for a scientific article on the thesis.
